Could his father John A. Manire be the John A. Manire, son of Philip Manire?  Benjamin F. Manire has a son named J. H. Manire born about 1856. Also John A. Manire, son of Philip Manire also has a son named J. H. (John H.) Manire born about 1856. Could be a mix up or do they both have boys with similar birth years and names? That would be interesting to have a half brother born the same year as your own son. It could have happened. (My Grandma was born the same year as her Niece.)
